SAN DIEGO, Dec 15, 2008 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Job loss coverage, lower fuel costs, stronger dollar and abundant travel deals make now a great time to travel

The economic and unemployment outlook may be bleak, but there's no reason to settle for a "staycation". CSA Travel Protection (CSA), a company dedicated to providing value-driven travel insurance and emergency assistance services, reminds vacationers that travel insurance can protect trip plans cancelled or delayed due to job loss.

CSA and other travel insurance companies offer policies that include a Job Loss* benefit that covers costs associated with delaying or cancelling a trip because a traveler's job is involuntarily suspended. With the November U.S.
unemployment rate at 6.7 percent (Bureau of Labor Statistics of the U.S. Department of Labor), thousands of Americans are faced with this uncertainty each month.

"Americans today are reading bad news after bad news, and they need a diversion," said Les Maine, CSA's president. "Travel deals and lower travel costs, combined with the security of travel insurance, make this a great time to get away or plan your summer trip."

1. If You Can Afford It,
there are some amazing deals out there. I got a free plane ticket to Costa Rica from credit card points and another for $350 from a bucket shop (ticotravel.com). Couldn't really afford it, but it was needed for family reasons.
