Company agrees to settlement & then refused to pay. You can help.
In June 2006, three courageous Bakersfield grape workers spoke up for their rights and were fired. Why? These workers were "laid off" after they had complained about a lack of protective equipment and mistreatment by a supervisor. The supervisor had been firing experienced workers in order to make room for his family and friends. The workers went to the company’s office multiple times to complain. They presented Kirschenmann Farms with a letter signed by the majority of the workers asking for the issues to be resolved. The right to have concerted activity to improve working conditions is specifically protected under CA law.

2. hello Omaha Steve
i noticed you also posted some "action links." i'm new to this site, but i think it is a good idea to post these so others can also act on them. hopefully people agree with them and will support the causes. it certainly is a good way to spread the word. i hope people don't mind those types of posts.

your posts provide needed information about labor issues and the variety of issues that are out there. thanks for all the info
