Who's in it: Cascades Boxboard Group-Connecticut LLC

Who put it there: U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration in response to employee complaints.

For what: OSHA cited the company for 52 alleged "serious and repeat violations of safety standards" at its paper mill in the Versailles section of Sprague. Alleged hazards include unguarded moving machine parts, stairs that lack railings, open-sided platforms that were unguarded or inadequately guarded against falls and several locations where floors were not maintained in dry condition.

Penalty: As much as $323,000 proposed.

Company explanation: Company officials said they are evaluating the case and would have no comment.

Status: Company has 15 days to contest the citation or negotiate a settlement.
