2. Let them! The only way EFCA dies is if Senator Reid withdraws it
in response to a Republican filibuster.

All filibusters end.

Wait them out.

Civil rights supporters in the Senate didn't surrender to the segregationists when they filibustered for 57 days against the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

8. The C of C & Anti-Union Lawyers have publicly described the EFCA
Edited on Sat Feb-07-09 04:59 AM by Earth Bound Misfit
as "Armageddon". Organized Labor has used the similar terms, but not as often nor as loudly.

Time to get LOUD.

5. Harry - it only takes 50 votes to pass a bill
and if they want to filibuster let 'em do it. Out loud on the floor.

6. Delaying EFCA
is probably being used as a bargaining chip in the stimulus negotiations. I think it will be held back until next Spring. If the Repubs filibuster it then, the labor movement will be energized for the mid-terms. IMHO.

7. So if we elect 80 Democrats to the Senate would we have a fighting chance?
:)
