AUBURN, N.Y. -- A commercial laundry employee has been awarded over $30,000 after being fired for reporting potentially unsafe conditions in their workplace to OSHA.

A judge found that Able Linen Services in Auburn violated the whistleblower provisions of the Occupational Safety and Health Act when they fired the employee for filing the complaint back in 2005. After an investigation, OSHA found merit to the complaint and ordered the employee to be reinstated and paid accrued wages and benefits.

The Department of Labor brought the company to court in 2008 after they refused to reinstate the employee.
