Doug Cunningham takes a look.

In the Chrysler bankruptcy the Obama administration is allowing tax dollars to underwrite closing state of the art U.S. plants in order to ship those jobs to Mexico. Author and journalist John Nichols.
: “It is not the right direction for U.S. taxpayers to write checks in the amounts of billions of dollars in order to allow companies to close factories, layoff workers and move jobs to other countries.”
Nichols says if this is Obama’s industrial model, it will lead not to creating jobs but to completing the de-industrialization of America.
: “The Obama administration is hastening the collapse of American industry, not saving American industry. If there is no push back against the current approach of the Obama administration as regards the bailouts of basic industries, I think this moment will define where all of the Obama administration’s interactions with industrial America, with unions, with working Americans, will go.”
He says there must be a push back from the UAW and others or there will be no future for the U.S. auto industry and no green manufacturing economy in the U.S.
