Today in labor history June 13 Hundreds of the protesters were executed & Medgar Evers assassinated

June 13

June 13, 1381 - Several thousand peasants marched into London to demand an end to serfdom and to seek higher wages. At first King Richard II acceded to their demands, but after the peasant leader Wat Tyler was killed, the king reneged on his promises. Hundreds of the protesters were executed.
