Fusion Vs. Prius

I am trying to decide whether to get a Ford Fusion Hybrid or a Toyota Prius(Hybrid). While there are several factors I am considering, labor-friendly is one of them. Is either vehicle better than the other in this regard? If so, why?

Please no comments on environmental friendliness, safety, reliability, etc. I am considering these things separately - and that's why these two cars are at the top of my list.

1. Fusion . Best drive train in its class.

Mind you, 40MPG and what not, I'd only get value out of it doing city driving. My Focus does 40 on the freeway, assuming I never do city driving and coast at 65MPH. After city driving, and depending on weather and road conditions, I get 30 on average - 25 in the winter due to longer starts and basic physics when it comes to winter conditions:

Even after the cost of gas, for me, hybrids don't make up the cost.

Besides, hybrids are not cheap and lithium batteries are costly so get the good warranty...

Stay away from the prius. You'll prefer having a priapism instead.

2. I wood think that having the car would be somewhat less

5. Ah, But I Do ALL City Driving

I work 8 miles from home. The speed limit on the highways (most of the 8 miles) is 45 mph. There are frequent stop lights. So, I may be able to get all the way to work rarely using the fuel engine.

I want a hybrid because it's the only way I can see to have a mid-size car that gets more than 25 mpg with my kind of driving.

4. Labor friendly? Well the Fusion is made in Mexico and

we all know about the powerful labor movement there. The Prius is made in Japan the heart of the labor movement. HA HA
I don't think the premium you pay for a hybrid comes near the fuel saving unless it goes to $4 or $5.00 plus per gallon.

2010 Ford Fusion named Motor Trend's Car of the Year. Not sure on the Prius.

Dearborn -- The 2010 Ford Fusion has been named Motor Trend magazine's 2010 Car of the Year.

The announcement was made today at a ceremony at the Ford Motor Company World Headquarters.

"Ford has proven its resilience in these tough times by delivering to market a car with broad appeal to a broad range of consumers," said Angus MacKenzie, Motor Trends editor-in-chief.

Ford's global product development chief, Derrick Kuzak, called the award "another testament to our commitment to delivering a world -class lineup."

The Fusion beat out 22 competitors including the Buick LaCrosse, Toyota Prius, Porsche Panamera, Hyundai Genesis Coupe and others.
