A moment of silence (sorry I got this to late)

The loss of 29 miners in the recent tragedy at Massey Energy Co. is a haunting reminder of why workers' voices are so essential. Workers had attempted to organize at Big Branch Mine three times and each time, their efforts were crushed by CEO Don Blankenship who has been accused of putting profits before safety.

When there are no checks and balances to corporate power and greed, we all pay. We need real labor law reform so all workers can have a voice on the job, can demand safe working conditions, and can bargain a fair share of the wealth they help to create.

How many more lives will be lost before our leaders act? Join us in holding a national moment of silence this afternoon at 3:30pm EST and supporting the miners involved in the tragedy at the Upper Big Branch Mine.

Thanks for all you do,
