NLRB certifies WTAE union vote

The National Labor Relations Board Wednesday certified WTAE on-air employees' vote to again be represented by the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists.

The election marks the return of the unit to AFTRA after a decertification in 1997. The election and NLRB certification pave the way for contract negotiations to begin between AFTRA and Hearst for a collective bargaining agreement covering the 23 new AFTRA-covered employees. Negotiations are expected to begin later this year.
