An Omaha-based grocery store chain has been accused by the U.S. Department of Labor of violating child labor laws.
A complaint filed Friday in U.S. District Court in Omaha says minors working for Bag 'N Save Inc. have operated a high-lift pallet jack, balers and compactors since September 2007.
The Labor Department asks the court to order the company to stop forcing minors to perform such work, which is a violation of federal law.
A woman who answered the phone Friday at Bag 'N Save's corporate office said no one was available to comment.
Bag 'N Save's website says it is a family owned company that operates 10 stores in Omaha and one in York.
