Contract talks between Walt Disney World and the Service Trades Council are getting rockier after the labor group rejected the first proposal. Contract talks between Walt Disney World and its largest labor group are getting rockier.

After members of the Service Trades Council rejected the first contract proposal earlier this month, Disney and union leaders returned to the bargaining table last week. But Disney management quickly rejected a new offer from the unions and countered with the same contract offer that had just been rejected — minus a $100 bonus the company had promised for every full-time worker had the contract been approved on the first vote.

Union leaders are expected to meet this week to discuss their next step. Options range from holding a second contract vote to seeking a federal mediator to striking. The council's current labor contract has been extended until Nov. 8.
