Glenn Beck Needs to Stop the Lies About AFSCME
Washington, DC — Yesterday, FOX News personality Glenn Beck lied about AFSCME when he told his national audience that “the government union, the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, AFSCME, has decided to boycott, coincidentally, me, Rush and John Stossel.”
First of all, AFSCME is not a “government union.” We are an independent, democratic union representing 1.6 million nurses, corrections officers, child care providers, EMTs, sanitation workers and others who work in public services.
More importantly, our Stop the Lies campaign is not a boycott. It is a multimedia, grassroots effort to respond to right-wing lies. To view our initial campaign video and sign up to help us Stop the Lies, click

AFSCME’s 1.6 million members provide the vital services that make America happen. With members in hundreds of different occupations – from nurses to corrections officers, child care providers to sanitation workers – AFSCME advocates for fairness in the workplace, excellence in public services and prosperity and opportunity for all working families.
