It wasn’t the best happy new year greeting from New York Governor David Paterson to state workers. Paterson said he’ll be slashing 900 state workers in the new year due to his failure to reach an accord with state unions. It is unknown if Governor-elect Andrew Cuomo will follow through on Patterson’s threat.

1. All states are having to lay off, fire--reduce their work force. There
is no where else to cut. When people have tax cuts
tax cuts tax cuts, this means states do not have
money coming in.

The old saying people want their services but do not
want to pay for them is playing out across the country.
