NORFOLK, Neb. (AP) — Authorities say a 24-year-old Battle Creek man was killed on the job at a Norfolk warehouse.
A news release from Madison County authorities says De'Andra Moore was the victim of an accident at Norfolk Iron & Metal around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Sheriff's investigator Jon Downey says a forklift accidentally hooked a large steel tray and pushed it into Moore, crushing him momentarily between the tray and a steel rack.
Jay Fleecs is director of human resources for Norfolk Iron & Metal. He says Moore was a full-time employee. He would not comment further, other than to say an accident investigation is continuing.
