So many lies about labor...

...where to start?

This appeared in a local rag here in SoCal.
This lady is absolutely clueless yet this is the prevailing ignorance I am surrounded with down here:

Snippets:

"...The union bosses/officers decide where to contribute the money given them in dues. The individual who must join the union has absolutely no say in where these contributions are given nor to which party or cause. Statistics indicate that union members are usually split about 50-50 when they cast their independent votes for candidates. However, well over 90 percent of mandatory union dues support Democratic candidates."

"...these disgruntled union workers who are crashing into the state capitol in Wisconsin, destroying public property and making death threats against anyone who opposes them."

I just posted up a response as "Ned".

1. The lies are very effective...
.."...these disgruntled union workers who are crashing into the state capitol in Wisconsin, destroying public property and making death threats against anyone who opposes them" is a mirror to what I hear every day, despite multiple, fact-based articles, posts and evidence to the contrary.

The right knows that it pays to lie. They're experts.

2. Points that should be included when rebutting trash pieces against unionls.
Those union bosses are only bosses when they hire a secretary or maintenance person for their union hall. Otherwise, they are the elected leaders of their local union or parent organization. Elected at elections by members in good standing with federal government required procedures to run those elections. In addition, there are elections for other officers of a local union that sit on the local union board to make recommendations to their members at a regular meeting.

Business owners are not elected. They can strongly suggest to their employees (especially their management) to donate to their PAC so they can contribute to political candidates.
