Today in Labor History Apr 17 SCOTUS holds that a maximum hours law for NY bakery workers is unconst

The Supreme Court holds that a maximum hours law for New York bakery workers is unconstitutional under the due process clause of the 14th amendment - 1905

And this: April 17, 1905 - The U.S. Supreme Court held that a maximum hours law for New York bakery workers was unconstitutional under the due process clause of the 14th amendment. Meaningful legislation to limit working hours was not achieved until passage of the federal Fair Labor Standards Act in 1938.
