The AFL-CIO’s Union Summer internship program is underway with forty-five students working in eight cities on community and labor-movement building projects. AFL-CIO President Rich Trumka says Union Summer gives young people an opportunity to give back to their communities as they help to re-build the middle class and creat a voice for all working people. Trumka says Union Summer is part of a young worker outreach program that also includes the upcoming second annual Next Up Summit of young workers in Minneapolis.
