A worker trapped Friday when a 15-foot trench caved in has been freed, authorities said.

Rescuers worked for nearly four hours to free the man, identified by his brother as Jeff Schnider, 41.

Schnider was conscious and alert as he was removed from the trench.

The accident happened at the corner of 192nd Avenue and Briggs Street.

Authorities said they worked slowly to free the man to ensure there was no further collapse of the trench.

2. I suspect you are correct
and for the record I HATED trench rescues. It places the rescuers at so much risk as well
