"Unions should be eradicated"
In a stunning statement today, Pope county Republican chairman stated “Unions should be eradicated.” If you own a corporation, I’m sure you believe that is true and would kill to eradicate people standing up for themselves. But as ordinary people, we need to remember; Unions gave us ordinary people the 40 hour work week. Unions gave us minimum wage, pensions, child labor laws. Unions gave safer working conditions and paid vacations. The Republicans, according to Gene Daughtry, want to see those long acknowledged benefits “eradicated.” Yep, you read that right. Gene Daughtry wants to make sure that you are paid whatever someone wants to pay you, work you for as long as they like, fire you when they are in a bad mood; and like the Branch coal mine owners, kill you in the process of making a profit.

We have a choice. Ken Aden believes that we ordinary people should have a voice in our lives and unions are important. Ken Aden, the Democratic challenger for the 3rd district of Arkansas, believes that there must be a balance to corporate power and strong unions create a stronger America.

Unions need to know that we are fighting another battle here in Arkansas! We have a chance against the piggy Steve Womack.

1. I work in the office of a union manufacturing facility.
The head of maintenance, who is unabashedly republican and enjoys Rush Limbaugh, was talking on the phone to somebody today when I overheard him say, "We are a union shop here, believe it or not there are actually some benefits to that.". I was kind of floored. A semi-open-minded republican. I was amazed.

question why the onslaught of Anti-Uniionism. The Republicans

7. corporate abuses: the real solution is to replace Corporations with co-ops
Co ops are owned by the employees.

Begin the trend by moving from ur bank to a credit union.

PS where is Pope/Polk Co.?

9. Ken Aden (D) Candidate in AR-03
This is my first post on DU. I am a volunteer in Ken Aden's Congressional campaign. Frankly, the 'stars' have aligned for a man like Ken Aden to step forward and proclaim: "I've had enough!" I have been associated with this man since his announcement on 1 Sept. I am a disabled Vietnam Vet (Agent Orange). I defended my country for nine years, served two overseas deployments; left the Navy to return home to no job... a bad economy and a Nation that attacked the 'warrior' as much as the 'War.' Thank God, though the first two conditions are the same, the third has changed for the better. I am 63 years and I take orders from a man who is the same age as my son. I do it with pride. We are building a 'grassroots' campaign here in the 'Belly of the Beast,' Northwest Arkansas... the 'reddest of the red' areas in the United States.

Ken's campaign has been referred to in the media as a 'suicide mission.' Without help, it will be. I told Ken that he was 'walking into a buzz saw.' His reply, "I know it, but it is a 'buzz saw' I am willing to walk into." We are in the process of building a team that will be composed of 'citizens,' not 'political hacks.' Frankly, we will not be successful unless we have the support of like-minded individuals, both within Arkansas and without. Come! Join us! If not in the flesh, at least in spirit!

This old 'Warhorse' has been brought out of the barn for one more charge... one more fight... one more effort to defend, not only his country... but his friends, his neighbors and his family!

Please Join Us!

:hi:
This is a worthwhile journey to a better world and I know Ken Aden is going to be a great one to have on our side in Washington, D.C.
