A 79-year-old Allen, Neb., man died Sunday morning when a skid loader he was operating went off an embankment and into the Missouri River near Wynot, Neb., the Cedar County Sheriff's Office said.

Divers from a Yankton, S.D., search and rescue team found the submerged wreckage and pulled out the body of Richard McCorkindale, the Sheriff's Office said.

Rescuers were called to the river at 10:52 a.m. after receiving a report that the skid loader apparently went off the embankment on private property west of the Brooky Bottom recreational area.

1. Poor guy..

I watched someone try to use a big skid loader to pull a much bigger barge back to the bank of the canal once, the loader very nearly ended up in the drink when a pushboat with a couple of barges came by and sucked our barge further out into the canal.

Holy crap. Shouldn't that guy be out fishing or enjoying retirement? Oh, wait ... this is America.
