I am a "not-so" proud Teamster re: Keystone XL

Just got this email:

Dear xxxx,

The Keystone XL pipeline project has been waiting for a Presidential Permit since 2008. Please help us in telling the White House that we can’t wait any longer! This project would create a projected 20,000 good-paying jobs, including 1,500 Teamster jobs. It would boost the economies of the states and local communities through which it would pass, as pipeline companies will need materials and supplies, and the pipeline workers will be living in these communities while the project is completed. The new pipeline would also reduce our dependency on oil from unstable, anti-democratic countries, such as those in the Middle East, and provide us with a steady stream of reliable energy from Canada, an ally with a stable government and already the largest supplier of oil to the U.S.

Please send a message to the White House today – please put America back to work and approve the Keystone XL pipeline project.

I wrote them back my displeasure.
There are much better avenues for creating jobs than poisoning the land and air.

I had to go to school and train for a whole new career when I was 50 years old. It can be done.
