Striking machinists ratified a new contract with Honeywell Sunday evening, ending their 42-day walkout.
Both sides said the union agreed to largely the same terms it had rejected on Oct. 9, with the company saying the new contract has only “minimal changes.”
The approval was lopsided and largely a decision to go back to work at Honeywell’s Bannister complex, said Steve Nickel, a grand lodge representative of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers.
“They’re not happy with it, but they can live with it,” Nickel said.
