Kid-Friendly Travel
Later this month, we're going to Jamaica with our one-year-old daughter. We looked around for foreign travel destinations that were kid-friendly and came upon the Beaches Resorts. Seems to be a good combo of relaxing beach vacation and plenty of Disney-like kids activities (my daughter's going to flip over the water park, and she likes Sesame Street but she might freak over 6-foot-tall Elmos walking on the grounds of the resort). Anyhoo, it wouldn't be my ideal destination, but I think everybody will be happy (just keep those all-inclusive rum drinks coming!)

Maybe when she's older we'll do something more adventurous.

I'll post a full report when we get back. Meanwhile, anybody been to Beaches? Any other good family vacation stories?

1. Sounds great! Please let us know how it works out.
I have 5 kids under the age of ten. We take them to Maui for winter breaks. We break the flights up so that we overnight in San Fran on the way out and back. That way they are spending 10 hours on the plane all at once.

Maui is wonderful for all ages. So much to do and see.

2. Remember these 2 things:
Apply her sunblock a half-hour BEFORE you go outside--it works much, much better then.

And; day 3 is usually nervous-breakdown day for toddlers on vacation. Make no big, un-rearrangeable plans for day 3.
