I am now a year into growing my hair for Locks of Love, one of many organizations that make wigs for children with cancer and other diseases which create hair loss. This will be my second head of hair (which I refer to as a 'wig') that I've donated.

For anyone and everyone who has the ability to grow a long head of hair, please donate your locks to an organization that will make a child with cancer live a happier life.

I'm sorry to say this may be a hit and run. I lost my mother to breast cancer in 1992 and my best friend of 17 years to melanoma in 2006.


I still cry for my best friend.

It was difficult for her to cut off her long hair, but the pleasure she got from knowing it was going to cancer patients took the sting out of it.
