May I ask who's had a breast biopsy here?
What were the mammography/ultrasound findings that led to the biopsy? I have a very suspicious looking lump with ragged edges and blood flow, indicating it is growing. I'm trying to hold out some hope that it may be benign, but I fear it's not.

1. I've had two.
Both were core biopsies

The first was performed after microcalcifications were found via mammo. The second was done after a suspicious shadow was seen via mammo exactly 2 years after the lumpectomy. Neither time could the tumors be seen nor felt.

Please let us know the results after you see your doctor. If it is cancer it is so important to begin a regimen early. We're here for you:hug:

2. I've had one.
It was a core biopsy. Part of my breast was misshapen (nipple), and there was definitely something on the mamo. The biopsy showed cancer cells, and a mastectomy followed soon after. I've had mammograms yearly forever, and this showed up all of a sudden.

3. Thank you both for responding.
I got my radiology report today, and my lesion was categorized as BI-RADS 4. I understand from an internet search that fewer than half of lesions in this category turn out to be malignant. Also, the lesion is small. So I'm cautiously optimistic. An ultrasound-guided core biopsy is scheduled for Monday. Thanks again for your responses.
