May flowers and a check-in for all my friends here!

How is everyone? It's been quiet, so I hope that means "no news is good news." :)

Just got back from my six-month check-up today, and I will be going in for another surgery sometime this month. It's not that serious, my doctor says. The growth(s) is/are small. I'll also be getting a little chemo this time around.

I hope all of you are doing well and enjoying the beauty of spring. :grouphug:

3. I'm a n00b here.
Invasive ductal carcinoma--grade 1--diagnosed last month. I'm having a lumpectomy on the 18th. Radiation to follow that for sure. Possibly some chemo depending on what they find. Please everybody keep your fingers crossed that my nodes are negative. It's looking good from all the imaging, but they can't tell for sure until they get in there.

So sorry you're going through more surgery, flamingyouth, but I'm happy it's relatively minor.

6. You'll be in my thoughts, FS
I had a similar diagnosis with my 2nd BC. The first time I had lumpectomy and sentinel node biopsy. I'll keep you very close on the 18th and if you need to talk to someone who has been through it please don't hesitate to PM me.

9. Thanks so much, pecwae.
 I'm having the sentinel node biopsy, too. I'm so glad I decided to go the Mayo Clinic after I finished my imaging at a smaller facility. They really have state-of-the-art treatment.

12. Finished last chemo treatment 2 weeks ago.
I will see the onc in 2 weeks.

Had to buy some new clothes after losing 10lbs. Not a bad thing, but 2s are hard to find.

Work and tending to the garden take up my time these days. After sitting at a computer all day, the last thing I want to do when I get home is surf the net and that includes DU. But I always pop in to see how things are going.

Sorry you have to have another surgery. This cancer crap is downright inconvenient. My best to you.

Stay strong. And thanks for the flowers.

13. Congrats on finishing chemo.
Please let us know how your oncology appt. goes - we'll all be thinking of you.

I had my surgery and chemo last Wednesday; it went well. Still feeling not quite right, but I'm sure that's to be expected. Inconvenient indeed!

14. It's so good to hear from you!
You've reached a milestone; chemo over! You're the first BC I've known that didn't gain weight with treatment. Let us know how you're getting along. I know it's tough to get to everything on your to-do list during this time. We haven't forgotten you!

15. I just took radioactive iodine on the 31st
So far my cancer has barely been more than a nuisance, outside of the surgery part, and I'll trade a hundred odd stitches over chemo any day,so I've lucked out.Right now the only sucky part is not having my bestest fuzzy friend Frisco the Cat around me.

On the other hand, being radioactive made dealing with the landlord a very easy thing this month."Here's your money...can't talk, gotta go,I'm radioactive!"

16. I have to agree with you there.
I could only do 9 out of the 18 recommended chemos. My body just cannot tolerate it. Stiches...I have so many scars, what's another. Like you I too feel pretty lucky; three times and they've all been very early.

Hopefully it won't be too long before you and Frisco can have a love fest. My fur babies have helped me through a lot of trials.

17. Glad to hear from you and that you're doing well.
Sorry you have to be separated from Frisco, though. That must suck. :(

But the good part about not having to talk to other people: well, glad you can look on the bright side. :D
