Scared of the biopsy in the morning.
I thought maybe ya'll here could understand.

Last year, they found a huge tumor in my right kidney. I had surgery, and they took everything out--kidney, adrenal gland, all surrounding tissue, slice of my liver, and three inches of rib to get it out intact. Ever since, I've had a hard recovery from that and then full-blown asthma, weight gain no one can explain, odd other symptoms and test results that don't make sense. It's been hard.

So, a couple of weeks ago at my yearly checkup, I tell my internist about my left breast hurting a bit. Because of my history (seven months before the kidney surgery, I had exploratory surgery to figure out why I'd had severe chronic abdominal pain for a year that ended up being appendicitis), my doctor decided to play it safe and have me get an ultrasound (I'm 33, and ultrasounds are more accurate, apparently, at my age).

They found several cysts, including a decent-sized one where the pain is. Those look benign. Then they found one I didn't know about and can't feel that doesn't hurt that I'm getting biopsied in the morning.

Scared. out. of. my. gourd.

The kidney tumor, after waiting for a month on pathology and four pathologists arguing back and forth about it, was decided not to be cancer. It just looked and acted like cancer, but they're mostly sure that it won't come back (another reason why my doctor keeps close tabs on me--what if they were wrong?). What if this cyst is cancer--it wasn't last time, so it might be this time.

I felt especially anxious when the nurse told me yesterday that 80% of all breast lumps are benign. Yeah, and the odds said I wouldn't have a huge kidney tumor that no one had ever seen the like of before, either. The odds of my appendicitis being misdiagnosed for ten years wasn't exactly high in the odds, either.

I just need hugs.

Wishing you peace of mind and an easy time tomorrow. Sorry you're having to go through this, but hope you can try to relax and take the burden off your mind somehow.

~*Peace*~

3. So far, no peace of mind.
My doctor, who's normally quite on the ball, didn't call in my Xanax scrip right yesterday (maybe to the wrong pharmacy when I give them the addy every time to make sure they get it right). She's the one who wants me to have it, and now it's all screwed up.

Really trying not to cry in front of the kids. This really is the last thing I needed right now.

8. Hope they've got it right now!
Hope you're doing better. I thought about you today, and hoped things were going well.

Nyquil can help a person mellow out and sleep, even if they don't have a cold, I've found.

Take care, and hope you get some good news soon!

and holding you closely during the wait for results

No one knows the awful anxiety of these biopsies, tests, etc. than those of us here.

I'm so sorry that you have to go through this again. It all just sucks so much.

10. Feeling better today.
That Xanax really wiped me out (apparently not a normal reaction, but that's to be expected), and I'm sore today, but overall, I'm feeling better that it's done.

11. Taking action has done wonders for my anxiety.
I can sooo totally relate. The waiting around and doing nothing part is extremely stressful.

At least things are starting to happen. Sending peaceful vibes your way and keep us posted on how things are going.

12. It's benign!!!!
Hubby looked it up late last night, just to see if they'd gotten to it yet. They had, and while there were a few odd things in there (what else is new?), there were no mytotic cells. Yay! I'm amazingly relieved. Of course, part of me wonders when the next lump will be found, but at least we know this one is okay. My doctor will just want to keep a closer eye on me from now on, knowing her, though I'm not sure how she'll do that, considering the close eye she has on me already.

Praises be, it's benign! Thank you all for your hugs and good wishes. I needed them. :grouphug:

17. Oh, that's wonderful and what a relief
for you! So sorry you've had to endure all this crap this past year, too. Your hubby must have been going nuts, considering he's a doc himself. I remember one of my docs telling me that doctors have the hardest time when a spouse or close family member is ill, and I can believe it.

18. He has had a hard time with it all.
It doesn't help that my stuff is all weird and doesn't make sense anymore. He's cooked up some weird autoimmune theory, but it's moot since I can't take prednisone. *sigh* It's how he deals with it--tries to think of more and more theories on how to get me better.
