2. This is the broadcast of the station saying that the "Revolution is over" long live the military!
I hope I don't have to tell you about how the right hates Chavez particularly because he was democratically elected with 63%!

This video is the broadcast showing a "Orson Wells' War of the Worlds" level of fantasy as if Chavez had been overthrown - only with no disclaimers!!!

Here's a link to Thom Hartmann's BBS with resident "ditto-head" Sawdust giving the Freeper perspective about this matter:
http://thomhartmann.org/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/2051097651/m/5991054422

Read Sawdust's perspective.

Watch THIS video, and IMAGINE if, say, ABC had broadcast a similar broadcast to see what fucking hypocrites these freepers are.

4. Nah, you don't have to tell me. I am very interested in what goes

on in the Western Hemisphere. I am one who wants these countries to stand on their own feet. I think the constant fear of communism in the past and the way that fear was manipulated to play games with already wealthy people to make them more wealthy (even if they ended up in exile) is nicely behind us - replaced with the fear or Muslims. I think fairness is on the way in. I don't want the people in the other countries in this hemisphere to continue to be slaves for the IMF, World Bank, wall street, white house, and our corporate-CIA any longer.

I am on the watch for signs of abuse or hypocrisy by their leaders by watching for news coming through like this one. So far, it seems that anything Chavez does that is reported on by corporate-news in this country contains an omission or twist that is obviously intended to make him an enemy. The same for Morales.

Latinos are right behind Muslims in the new hate game - from communist Russians, East Europeans, and Chinese and SE Asia, to Muslims everlywhere, to Latinos, mostly Mexican - but especially those in countries where the leaders don't play the WH and corporate world owndership game.

3. Thanks for the post! Some people are criticizing Chavez for talking about
not renewing RCTV's license, but what they don't seem to realize is that the airwaves belong to the PUBLIC in Venezuela, as they do here, and if a TV station--who has the privilege of a license to broadcast, NOT a right--supports a violent military coup, have they not forfeited that privilege? What if Faux News called for kidnapping of Nancy Pelosi and her removal from office, or blatantly supported those who were doing so? Would you support the non-renewal of their license?

The key to the Chavez statement is that he did NOT invade RCTV's studios and shut them down. He is proceeding entirely lawfully to deny them a license for failure to operate in the public interest. We should do some similar things here--including reinstatement of the "equal time/fairness" doctrine, and busting up corporate news monopolies. Free speech is a right (and one that should not apply to corporations anyway--they are not human beings and citizens, they are an artificially created power consortium), but broadcast over the public airwaves is NOT a right. It is contingent upon serving the public good!

5. The right is talking about it as if it's some damn 'freedom of speech' issue - what BS...
I mean, to look at this broadcast (thanks to OP!) it's clear this station was directly involved in trying to overthrow the democratically elected gov't!

If ABC/CBS/etc would have tried this on Bush, the Freepers would call for EXECUTIONS for treason!!!
