it does express something extremely relevant to our current political situation.
One thing it made me think of was a recent article, I don't have a link, about the difference between the neo-con empire and the Roman empire - the Roman empire gave education and technology and increased standard in living in exchange for political domination - the neo-con empire offered nothing in exchange.
As I listened to this, I thought of the "we're so sorry" websites that sprung after after after 911 and after shock and awe.
I thought of the book "Blowback" and how some in the intelligence community saw 911 as getting back for what we gave.
And I wonder how we will reconcile with the Iraqis.
I also think of recently departed Robert Anton Wilson, and what he described as "mammalian politics".
