The Canadian citizen is accused of throwing a grenade that killed a US soldier in Afghanistan in 2002.

but seriously, how can they imagine that it is acceptable to do this to a child because of who they think his parents are? I want them to put on those shoes, imagine their child in custody for seven years not charged with a crime and subject to "interrogation", and imagine what they would feel towards any country that was punishing their child for the alleged sins of the father.

But yes, ultimately the responsibility lies with all of us. This is our country and these are our countrymen who somehow believe that the children of other men are less important, more expendable, than their own.

We have to own it before we can change it, we have to believe that it is wrong before we can make it right.

I think this video clearly shows he's been mentally tortured and probably much much worse. He goes on about not having an eye and leg. When people have been f*cked with mentally or physically through torture or sexual abuse, they don't make sense sometimes. His crying kill me kill me kill me when they leave the room says a lot.

GOD help him regain his freedom and mental state, and I will be praying tonight for the torturers and the gov't who approved them (B*sh) to be found guilty of war crimes soon... Beyond shame. The interrogator has zero sympathy, and he's clearly not there to check on a Canadian citizen but to interrogate him. He made his mistake and deserves at the very least a fair trial, not these years of torture and limbo. I actually don't have a lot of sympathy save for the fact that, as a youth, he's been so badly used by all. His mother was on local television last night demanding Canada do something and while I do sympathize with her care and concern for her child, it is mitigated by the fact that she let him go to Afghanistan to fight in the first place at the age of 15. Methinks Canada was a flag of convenience for them. But the fact remains, he should have been repatriated long before now...this is inhumane treatment, and it's become a Canadian embarrassment.
