Elizabeth Dole must be going insane!

Is she trying to tell us this is just another bill named to do the opposite of what its name would indicate? Is this the same thing as the Clear Skies initiative? The No Child Left Behind Law? Or has she decided that she is going to lose her seat in congress anyway so she might as well stick BOTH her thumbs in the eyes of those she hates anyway??

She's married to Bob (Viagra) Dole. Anyone think that NC could elect someone under the age of -- I don't know -- 60, 65? She took over Helms' seat. And apparently, thinks he was pretty darn great. According to Wikipedia, she hasn't lived in NC for over 30 years. Talk about a carpetbagger. Interesting tidbit here (not to be tacky) is that she serves on US Senate Select Committee on Aging. And she and Bob didn't live together for a number of years after they were married (kind of like John & Cindy McCain). I can't remember why, right now. But they didn't. And she's soooo smarmy.

NC has been playing follow the leader (usually SC)since the signing of the Constitution.

(When Helms died earlier this month, Bono of U2 left a voicemail for John Dodd, director of the Jesse Helms Center in Wingate, saying, "There are 2 million people alive in Africa today because Jesse Helms did the right thing.") However, Helms never relented in his belief that the overwhelming majority of people got AIDS due to "deliberate, disgusting, revolting conduct." And, apparently, these people deserved no help whatsoever.

He did his best to block programs to provide clean needles to drug users, despite the evidence of the effectiveness of these programs. And his hatred of the homosexual community is legendary.

Putting his name on this bill is a farce beyond measure.

The ONLY positive things I can say about her is she has the most polite staff (when I'm constantly calling and threatening my vote) and she voted for the recent GI Bill.

Other than that, she's a terror.

I don't know how in the world she felt that Jesse Helms would be the person to name this bill after - after all he's done to NOT help people with AIDS.

I'm moving.

Recommend so others see what we North Carolinians have to put up with!
