That's really the central issue, magnified by Rove's appearance in the clip. The request is for Obama to step onto Rove's playing field.

In the series "The Shield," Season 4, Forest Whitaker's "Kavanaugh" character displayed a nice little bit of pyychology. He would routinely offer people a piece of Juicy Fruit gum. If they declined, he'd smile and say "Come on, it's a fresh pack." If they took the gum, he KNEW that in other situations they would buckle under pressure.

Hannity and Rove are basically offering Obama a piece of Juicy Fruit, and I believe that he is too smart to take it.
