I say this, Pat actually killed cynicism. Maybe only briefly. But credit earned is credit deserved and the guy took all his inherent and long-displayed bigotry and transcended it.

He went light years past Barack Obama's genetics and color because Barack Obama enabled him to go to a place he never imagined he could reach.

That is the genius and the depth and the goodness of Barack Obama.

speech writer, and has probably written, seen and read more speeches than almost anybody else alive. I think he realized that he had just witnessed genius speech writing delivered by one of the best orators of our age. It was someone who was appreciating the art that they know and love. He is probably wishing he had a Barack Obama to deliver at least one of the speeches he wrote. Kudos to him for having the guts to praise it publicly. Sadly, I expect he'll be back to the same old Pat next week. Then again, if Barack could somehow win him over, well, that just may be the second coming!
