Enjoy.

Wouldn't it be great is we had a free press here on this side of the pond?

1. I wish he'd stop giggling at everyone
His "I'm so above it all" giggling makes me want to hit him with something heavy.

2. I enjoyed it, thanks for sharing
There's no way that a sentient being viewing that could say that Bolton did the US any favors as a representative of the USA.
He lacked facts, he lacked common decency, he lacked courtesy. He smirked at his own jokes. He put down our ally.

3. Now imagine the BBC did a similar debate *BEFORE* we invaded Iraq
I didn't see anything like it before or after the invasion here in the 'States.

I just happened to be in Europe before Bush & Co. went into Iraq. The news there was 180 degrees different from the "Countdown to Shock and Awe" crap that was playing 24/7 on the U.S. "news".

Bolton is a punk-azz who doesn't have (nor deserve) 1/10th the honor and courage of the Soldiers, Airmen, Marines, Sailors who have given and continue to risk their lives in Iraq due to his and Bush & Co's idiotic policies.

6. Well, that was certainly worth watching, and yes,
it certainly would be great if we had a free press here.

My feeling is the huge majority of the press and the congress (both sides) is complicit in this crime either through cowardice or self-interest. They will NEVER admit to this and I fear it may take at least half a generation or more to get good people in to replace all of them.

I wish we could clean house all at once but that won't happen. Sadly, it's going to take some time.

8. OMG, that is a great video.
I became a big fan of the BBC when visiting London several years ago, because they will confront the person being interviewed. The US press could learn a lot.

15. This is EXACTLY what our Corporate Media is filtering out!
Edited on Mon Mar-26-07 05:29 AM by ShortnFiery
Our fellow Americans are being dumbed down and distracted.

My GAWD! How many permutations can these nasty media whores take on the entire Anna Nicole Smith saga? :puke:  :puke:  :puke:

My point is that we are NOT being given the Unvarnished Truth. Every tidbit of honesty is being spun by Howie Kurtz, Tweety, Hannity and Whora O'Donnell. If we get beyond them, we are fed pablum by Glenn Beck, Nancy Grace and Greta Van Sustren.

Our entire Cable TV (and Broadcast) media is manipulated by the Pentagon, RNC and Unitary Executive Branch.

Every DAMN thing is spun to support perpetual war or keep people dumbed down with "Bread and Circuses."

Wake the hell up AMERICA. Our Corporate USA sponsored News Media is part of the problem. :(

11. Have I told you lately....
How much I freaking hate this man? He really showcased his diplomatic skills!! He was such an ass to those people. I loved the part where he encouraged the un-coupling of the US and the UK's foreign policy. It is the same old "you are with us or with the Tearwrists." I am so glad he is gone.

Mr, Bolton, here's your ass.

How dare he insult them so badly! I would have preferred them be even harder on him after that. And referring to the war of independence?! Bolton needs a trip to the woodshed.

America was established to enjoy certain freedoms, including that of freedom of speech and the press. I wish we could have that back. it appears our mother country is setting an example for us.

It's frightening that Bolton would have opted to take out Saddam during the 1st Iraq war. The man is a slow learner.

the one about Iraq attacking Kuwait.

Saddam Hussein asked the US for permission to invade and it was not denied.

24. I've wondered about that..
now that it's clear that the Bushlers use misinformation to create circumstances for war- as a means for war profiteering, resource control, and political power- is it a stretch to believe that this was the plan all along-that Poppyseed's at least tacit "permission" to saddam to invade kuwait-knowing FULL WELL that Iraq's aggression against it's neighbor would be a legitimate reason to attack iraq in 91? AND lay the ground work/rationale for the ultimate invasion a decade later? Is it a stretch to believe that Bushco gave by their inaction "permission: to al qaeda to attack America? by not taking the steps to prevent something they knew about? No longer implausible to me- Looks like CIA tactics and corporatist motives...

28. Excellent! Thanks!
I knew about that conversation but did not have the details. I always thought that GWI arose from the incompetence of the Bush 41 Administration in stopping the Kuwait incursion.

29. The only reason Poppy repeled Iraq in '91 is because BFEE $$ interests in Kuwait were threatened.
If Saddam had merely stopped Kuwait from its alleged slant-drilling or taken other actions to help boost crude oil prices, then the 1991 Gulf War would NEVER have happened.

This video should serve as a prime example of why Bolton wasn't fit to serve as a UN ambassador. Winning international friends isn't this neocon's specialty.

32. I couldn't believe it!
He was so extremely nasty to him! He's notorious for abusing staff but I would have thought he'd not be so discourteous to a member of a discussion panel that was being broadcast, of all things.

The retort that the British man (I wish I'd taken down his name) gave to Bolton was civilized and apropos, unlike Bolton's ridiculous reference to the War of Independence of the United States.
