You have heard stories of Smithfield workers who have suffered crippling injuries due to fast line speeds. You have heard reports of Smithfield supervisors screaming at workers to move faster to maintain the company’s inhumane production goals; of hundreds working in oppressive heat, some without access to clean drinking water; of Smithfield's routine practice of firing injured workers as if human beings are disposable; of Smithfield's long-running campaign to silence workers through threats, intimidation and, in the past, even violence.

You’ve heard all of this. Now it's time to do something about it!

In just a few days, consumers will come together in 16 cities to demand that Harris Teeter supermarkets stop selling Smithfield Tar Heel pork. Register now! Harris Teeter's own house brand of bacon is Smithfield. Be there on Saturday, March 31st, from 11 am – Noon, to show your support for courageous Smithfield workers in their long struggle for a voice on the job.
