Edwards was a gung-ho war supporter until the polls changed in the 2004 primaries. I like his position now, and give him full credit for it, but he would have made the wrong decision at the time. Clinton at the time made it clear that she was voting for the IWR only to give Bush more power to negotiate, in the hopes of heading off a war. Noble, but stupid to trust Bush. She wouldn't have started the invasion (I beleive Edwards would have), but she wasn't wise enough to head it off. Obama hasn't been around long enough for me to know how he will react in a crisis, nor for me to see whether he can even play politics enough to get any plan passed.

All of them have a lot of convincing to do. They are all good, but they all have weaknesses I don't trust.

Feeling more cynical than average tonight. :)

Actually, I don't care about anyone's plan. If Edwards has the best plan and Obama wins, Obama can use Edwards' plan. No big deal. The question should be who can win, and who can do the job if they win. (Not saying Edwards can't, not even trying to imply that). Otherwise, the plan is just words.

Once a plan hits the legislature and committee it will change anyway.
