5. Ms Stoddard Could Be So Much More Effective IF

Ms Stoddard is a lovely lady and does a great job. She would be so much more effective if she could work on that "tick" with the head snap and have her hair cut up to her chin and get rid of that mess of hair below the chin. Look she's wearing a necklace which is elegant at a time when most women don't and not wearing a necklace on a woman doing a video or on TV is like being half naked, half dressed. So Ms. Stoddard is doing the best she can and just needs a little prodding. How about some makeup and a brighter lipstick. She could be a fox.

6. She is effective enough. It is a shame that people will pick at these minor tics of hers.

I find her to be intelligent, an excellent speaker, and I appreciate the work she does. Some people have an aesthetic that near motionlessness is the preferred method of reporting the news. I really care more about the facts, the substance, and the coherence of the speaker.

These are my views about her presentation. Obviously those who have replied prior to me think differently.

Truth And For Justice,

I agree with you she does a superb job but as one or more of the previous posters said, there are the distractions such as the tic, the hair that looks like it was clipped by a weed whacker. She's a good speaker as you say and she's intelligent, but when you're on camera you simply must "play the part", "play the role", and try to eliminate the distractions so listeners can focus on what you have to say. If you know Ms Stoddard just let her know. She probably would appreciate the feed back. I've noticed that Chuck Todd from The Hill newspaper has cleaned up when being featured on TV regularly on the Scarborough Country Morning Java Show. Obviously, the camera crew sits him down and cleans him up and may even have loaned him a suit and tie.
