3. Cenk's comments... just lol... what a stupid video first of all!
Those slow roll-by's, I kept thinking "what's gonna happen uphill?" Or downhill? Does this thing have brakes? Do you have to run backwards to brake? That should make for really funny accidents!
And the last shot "now is the time to invest" with the mill beside the Porsche... man who thought of that???

Maybe there are brakes like on a bike.

4. I wouldn't be caught dead running on that thing.
Is it so bad to run on the pavement? What does this thing do for you? It is completely and utterly pointless. What do you do if you misjudged a downhill area and end up out of control? Do you have to bail?

42. I think you'd better have liability insurance before taking it out on the road.
I could picture it careening out of control downhill and plowing into someone's house.

5. If anybody actually uses that thing, they should just get beat up
By everybody. Even gramma and grampa should come out of their houses and put the boots to them. I could see maybe if somebody wanted to jump on a regular treadmill in their backyard, that's what I first thought of when I read the subject, but this idea is flat out stupid.

15. I love the idea of gramma and grandpa joining in. That is hilarious
IMHO, I think that buying it is punishment on it's own. However, if you want to go the punishment route, how about if you chain them to it and then put them on street across the country and force them to make it back home on this thing.

Another option would be if you could some how have rabid dogs chasing them and force them to have to get away using this device.

14. If you look closely, you can see that it is Joe The Plumber on the treadmill.
And what happened to the guy on the back? My guess is that it started "Can you help me get this piece of shit home?" and ended with either

a) The guy in the back saying, "Fuck This, you are on your own bro!!!".
or
b) The guy saying "Fuck! Shit!! Fuck! Fuck! Ow! Crap!" as the guy in the back falls off the back of it and rolls down the street.

For those who spend so much time indoors that they don't know running on a treadmill and running outside involves the same process of 'moving your legs' this is like a trainer for them! LOL!

But it only has two wheels, likely weighs a tenth as much, stores in a space of about 6 square feet.

It's a bicycle.

31. The first hour is available *free* on ITUNES. Since they have no corporate sponsors, they rely on
members.

I'm a member. I pay $10 a month and I have access to all three hours of the show (the first 2 hours of politics which are on XM 167 and the uncensored 3rd hour of entertainment and pop culture in addition to the members only post game show which can only be viewed on the website only if you have a membership).

If they put the entire show free on ITUNES no one would become a member and they'd have no money to put on the show (again, because they have no corporate sponsors)! And of course the show loops free 24 hours a day at www.theyoungturks.com.

the multiple lawsuits from this thing doing an end-over-end flip every time it hits uneven pavement or a pot hole. The slant of the hand rail and position of the "driver" well forward of the center of gravity is an obvious physics problem and an accident waiting to happen.

34. There is something here. This is what I think it means.
Edited on Sun Dec-07-08 03:23 PM by RandomThoughts
Not the machine itself, but a lesson in it.

Look at the thought process.

Its to icky to run outside, someone invents a treadmill.

running on a treadmill, now an intrinsic act, separated from its original conception of replacement of jogging.

The guy just wants to exercise outside. So with no knowledge of what came before, without understanding that the treadmill itself was a modification to jogging, he puts wheels on the treadmill.

This is a metaphorical story on what happens when ideas and thoughts get disconnected, or the meaning of different segments that built a thought or histories gets lost. Do we build our thoughts without knowing what came before?

Power
Government created 200 years ago to protect the people from power from the few. Always with the knowledge that rule of a few will corrupt. Power split in three branches, and across federal state and local.
Later after many years, people just remember that government was bad.
In an attempt to limit its power a few consolidate power, and turn power back over to the hands of the few.
They do this by telling people only 'the government is bad' part of the original thought. And people do not know why the thought originally occurred. They put wheels on the treadmill!

Hawkish
Peace is good for people and economies, people over there are fighting each other.
We need to go and stop them from fighting by kicking their ass.
These weapon contracts make alot of money for us, and lots of jobs over there rebuilding.
Many years later, we need to keep killing and fighting them cause they shoot back. And we can't risk losing all the contracts. we have forgotten the original goal.

Religion Extremes.
Our Lord teaches us to love our neighbor, to share with those we even do not know.
People over there are not doing these things. We need to convert them so they can see the beauty of love.
They wont listen to us, so they wont convert.
Lets beat them, burn them at the stake, or bomb churches, so then they will convert, they must believe, so our society can be good.

Finance, and maybe the meaning of the last statement in vid.
Economy has troubles, stocks fall, banks go under, debt goes up.
The sky is falling!
Will people remember that this might be a correction, and not panic, but get in when things are low? Will they realize that the 'shock' of collapse has more social engineering purpose, then real threat to long term economic stability?

Note: many of these are how things are sold, not what the actual people that do them believe or remember, but they really don't mind if we run outside on a treadmill, as long as we do their bidding, and believe what they packaged up and sell to us.

Or maybe, that the new fangled way of derivitives and such just to make money, completly missed the idea of investing and how regulated capitialism can propel an economic system forward. Forgetting that people invest expecting some modest return, not to be swindled, or to just roll the dice.

40. To complete the picture, the thing needs a motor
And then possibly a way to stop the track under your feet.

Then you'd see some people exercising!

And then ... if you could get it to balance somehow, you could put it on just two wheels -- it'd take up way less space.

That would be revolutionary!
