2. I loved that he said he'd help the victims of Katrina. You just don't hear much about that
from the federal government.

3. What a speech! He continues to completely impress me.
I have become such a believer in his thought processes, his wisdom and his vision!

This guy is the real deal. If anybody can get us out of this mess, he can...

7. It's so nice to have an actual leader again.
If shrub made a weekly address like this during his transition (and he told the truth) his speech would be something like this:

"Today I am appointing the new HUD secretary that Dick Cheney picked out for me. He is a longtime conservative idealogue and a personal friend of mine. He doesn't know anything about the job, but hey, the government kinda just runs itself, ya know? He'll be sittin in that office signin papers and answering calls like most government folks do, and ya know, doin whatever he does."

8. Wait a minute.... hold on.....
Shouldn't the president elect be looking only to the biggest contributors to his campaign to fill cabinet posts? I thought this was a buddy system. What am I missing? He should be appointing a Ranger or a Pioneer, right? Hmph. Elitist, idealogue, pedantic, show-off. I suppose he thinks he's going to CHANGE something. (please oh please let it all change)

9. What I'd like to know
is WHO set up that camera and backdrop? The bright background makes it difficult to see Barack and the chair looks like part of his shoulders and he looks like a gnome sitting there. Bad, bad staging. Great talk by the President Elect, as usual.

12. I agree.
Maybe I have ADD, but I was distracted by his right earlobe appearing to constantly make and break contact with the back of the chair. As you say, bad staging. Why not just do it in a simple manner like it's been done a million times before?

"Great talk by the President Elect, as usual." I'm with you on that too, of course. It's such a reassuring pleasure to finally listen to someone, who is clearly up to the task, say things that are intelligent as well as intelligible. He gives me hope and some confidence, two things I haven't had any reason to feel for the past eight destructive and calamitous years.
