Gov. Sarah Palin's home church was badly damaged by arson, leading the governor to apologize if the fire was connected to "undeserved negative attention" from her failed campaign as the Republican vice presidential nominee. (Dec. 14)

I took one look at that becrossed hayloft and thought, "What, were they storing $990,000 in cash in the place?"

Why would she bring herself into this as a possible motive, right out of the gate.

Very strange.

Hope they catch the criminals who did it.

6. I agree.
I think it was very poor taste to just assume that it might have something to do with her highness before any investigation is even done. My guess is it was either insurance-related or else bored Valley kids with nothing better to do.

21. She is an attention whore, no offense intended to prostitutes or women.
Dontcha know, she is a victim and the radically left will burn your church for bein a God-fearin patriotic American also.

Maybe someone was cooking some meth at church?

Thankfully no one was injured. I am sure they will get a great big 21st century landmark of a church now, right? Someone stick their nose into the church's insurance policy.

44. Maybe Palin, like a phoenix, will rise from the ashes of her church
and restore the Republican Party to its 'right'ful place.

I am sure I am wrong, but if I were in the marketing department of the Republican party I would think phoenix. The turkey video fits her a lot better though.

Xander:
It could be witches!
Some evil witches

Which is ridiculous,
'Cause witches, they were persecuted,
Wiccan, good, and love the earth
And woman power and I'll be over here
Anya:
I've got a theory
It could be bunnies
*crickets chirp*

Tara:
I've got a ...

Anya:
Bunnies aren't just cute
Like everybody supposes!
They got them hoppy legs
And twitchy little noses!
And what's with all the carrots?
What do they need
Such good eyesight for, anyway?

Push button automatic, solid weld body. What a tank and extremely unpopular;) Not a lot of those around even
when they were new.

I think that's it. Being a victim sells and she needs a bounce after the governors' conference. Wasn't
exactly a five star performance.

This is a really fun discussion board. A lot of really intelligent people, good commentary and best of all I can curse in my posts. Writing posts where I can include as many bad words as I am thinking makes me feel so much better, especially for most of the topics here.

19. That was my first thought - with the Big 3, everyone's not mentioned
SP for a week at least. And those Repubs who did were trying to make it clear she was not going to be the party leader.

Need to stir up the fundie base? burn out the candidate's church - they're always yammering about being a poor oppressed minority of 86% and how the big bad 14% rest of us are going to throw them in jail for praying, or reading their Bibles and all.

Anyone check Todd's hands for gas residue? Or maybe they told the boy they'd call off the shotgun wedding if he'd just get some of his party buddies to do this one little favor.

Seriously, I hope they find this was a candle left unattended, an electrical short or some other Act of God (no pun intended, but hell, it's really tough not to). I'd hate to think anyone tried to punish or intimidate someone else by burning anything, esp a place that they hold sacred.

Weren't they suppose to hold her under water to see if she drowns first?

I think that those suspicious conditions that they were referring to include the big stake in the middle of the church.

28. While waiting for a sign from God
about which door or window He would open just a wee crack so that Palin could then shove her way through the un-open but not quite closed door, Palin's home town church, the one where she said she never went anymore (?) was torched.

Big Man still waitin' for a sign that the Palin received message.

Meanwhile, Palin scrounged a few more interviews on the tee vee by claiming the fire was prompted by her. Or by her negative campaign. Was she making a national apology? A nation waits breathlessly.

Meanwhile, Paris Hilton had this to say, "That's hot. Hey, beyotch, this is how you do it..." Cut to skimpy clothed Paris dancing on a table top, surrounded by adoring media.

If Katrina was g-d's wrath on sinful New Orleans....

Not to worry though.....would not be surprised if it was an inside job to collect insurance....or a platform to solicit donations nationwide to build another mega-church with a taller steeple so that ALL can see Russia.......
