He used to do bland cover versions of 1950's rock'n'roll hits. The only reason kids bought his shit was that parents didn't object to him...so the kids used Pat Boone records to hide the REAL rock'n'roll records they actually liked.

And in his spare time, he's a Christian motherfucker who was such a horrible dad, that one of his daughters became anorexic.

Actually I was introduced to him thru his one-hit-wonder monstrosity of a daughter, Debbie Boone whose mega-super-hit 'You Light Up My Life' was number one on the charts for most of the seventies (when Saturday Night Fever wasn't dominating).

sometime in the late 50s or early 60s, when Pat Boone was just starting to hit the jukeboxes, they both ended up at the bar in a hotel in Buffalo NY where Pat Boone was staying and where my dad had just attended some kind of conference . . .

Dad was an Army officer and was in uniform, so Pat decided to buy him a beer when he sat down . . . they chatted for a minute or two, and Dad told him that he liked his music a lot better than that rock 'n roll crap that his kids were listening to all the time . . . and yes, he was wearing white bucks . . . apparently he was in town for a concert or something that evening and had some time to kill, which is why he was sitting there nursing a brew . . .
