So here's my big metaphor of what the DU looks like during it's "best" moments. The primaries were fun, and the Warren moment has been great. It's a wonder our heads don't all explode.

2. Well the parts of the whole certainly are.

We are constantly fragmenting and constantly refusing to help each other out. It's my way or the high way. My goals or no goals. It's just plain stupid. How many people post here? 134,000 registrations, let's say half that actually stick around... 75k people? I'm sure that could affect change if it really wanted to do more than moan that they're not getting their way. Times like this remind me how miraculous it was that we ever came up with a Constitution in the first place.

Criticism is okay, but some people are taking it too far. Accusing other DUers of this and that. It's really sad.

I think by having angry discussions like this we are actually starting to find common ground. I agree that, particularly if you hang out in GD:P long enough, it can look like one big hatefest but if you ignore the blatant, emotionally charged posts and find the more meaningful ones then you can see why some of us are so addicted to this place.
