4. Most economist disagree with Krug.
They say it's bad but nothing near The Depression which had 25% unemployment.

7. Reported unemployment is over 9.9% where i live.

And many of the unemployed are chronically unemployed. After a certain period of time lapses between your last unemployment check, you are no onger even considered part of that demographic9c even though you are still unemployed.

Plus our safety nets also shield the true story. Whereas someone who wasn't working in 1930's might have been forced to look for work, in this day and age many are on disability.

Instead of unemployment, I look to the numbers of states whose budgets are in crisis. Right now that number is up there at 28. California, which boasts 32 or 33 million people, is gonna be without money by March of 2009. The large charities have just seen their numbers drop, as the MAdoof Ponzi scheme was something that many charities were banking on for continuous high returns.
These foundations and charities provided money for among other things, hospitals and universities.

Meanwhile the food pantries are inundated with record numbers of people needing their services.

And last but not least, remember the stock market just tanked late September, not even 90 days ago. So we are only now seeing that ripple effect. It took until late 1932 for the number of jobless to reach 25%.

The Bush Legacy will be with us for ten thousand years ! http://www.wisecountyissues.com Our environment is dying, our health care is substandard and we have kids being infected with MRSA. Greed effects more than those who fill their dirty pockets.

10. Paul Krugman 'humor'
I saw this on CSPAN, during the Q&A someone asked him what can we do to fix the problem and he said 'get more haircuts'. I guess the service industry is the best place to stimulate to jumpstart the economy.
