Never seen Russert on the world stage as Newman had been so many times... In addition to pioneering M.A.S.H units and triage, he was an inventor (he worked in his dad's tailor shop) and sewed many of his catheters. He still holds hundreds of patents even today.He preformed heart surgery on world leader and local kids who were too poor to afford cab fair to the MED center. And what he did for the med center. ..... He was the first person EVER to lie in state (I believe city hall). Many, if not most top notch cardiologist in the world today got training form DeBakey or use his techniques. I vote him for important world wide. Paul Newman famous and George Carlin in US.
