On January 10, 2009, Beverly Perdue became the first woman Governor of the State of North CArolina. This video shows her taking the oath of office and a later video will present her inaugural address.

The National Anthem was sung by John Bellamy, America the Beautiful was sung by Caitlin Cary, the Flyby was the 4th Fighter Win, Seymour Johnson Air Force Base (4 F-15 E's) and the poem was read by Andy Griffith and written by his wife Cindi.
