TYT really sucks-ass for glorifying this by laughing about it.

I've kicked some people's asses, and had my ass kicked, and it's never fun whatever side you're on.

I call Cenk on his bullshit.

It also flies in the face of being pro-peace. Violence is NEVER funny, especially a sucker punch like this. That lawyer could easily have been killed, or maimed for life had the guy's fist landed squarely in a different place, or had he fell and hit his head on something.

...I agree - it's not funny. It's quite painful to watch. actually. No one loves Ironic humor more than I do, but this just wasn't funny because the lawyer REALLY got hurt.

I guess the lawyer got a free "plug" (haha) on national TV because of it.;)

I get tired of "outraged" people simply spreading exactly what they thought was so wrong or bad. "This is sick and disgusting, I'll take 10 to hand out to all my friends." Just trying to point out that this is a prime example.

He also expresses admiration for the lawyer's composure. Cenk seems genuinely sympathetic and truly impressed by the lawyer's apparent lack of desire for vengeance.

I think a good question is this: How would Cenk's treatment of the incident make you feel if you were the lawyer?

I would feel fine with it. I would be grateful to Cenk for praising my calm restraint in the face of violence and my professional, dignified course of action.

Even if I hadn't heard of TYT.

bad, mostly poor neighborhoods. Went through the whole military industrial high school football complex. America is a pretty violent place if you haven't forgotten. I am certainly not proud of any violence I have ever partook in.

I was having a conversation with a good friend of mine - a big guy who grew up in some rough parts of Chicago who also spent some time in the pen - about the subject of kicking someone's ass, the burst of anger that it takes to physically attack someone, and the tumultuous discombobulation of emotion it causes someone inside. We both agreed that kicking someone's ass is way over rated, much in the same way that those who have been involved in direct violence in a military conflict reflect upon it if you ask them: nobody looks upon it with glee or pride. Usually only sorrow, sadness and guilt pervade.

Violence sucks period.

When one watches and or listens to the show. At least the vast majority of moderate to liberal Dem's I have introduced to the show have all though that they do a very good job in most things. But hey no one is perfect.

Cenk did not play the scene over and over, he was showing the clip from news show in which THEY (not TYT) played it over and over. Cenk even says that he does not condone such behavior, watch it from 6:00 to the end.
