1. I'm glad that Cenk covered this, even though it'll piss some party line towers/toe-ers off.

Fair is fair and this story isn't a good thing.

3. I agree...
But many people are in a honeymoon period (understandably, *within reason*) and are very resistant to hear anything negative, despite the fact that it's true.

5. Sure, if you look up the origin it's "toe", but "tow" is logical as well.
:)

6. Cenk's right - money is a powerful influence. Even though O said he would not beholden
to lobbyists, it's up to us to make sure he's true to his word - it's OUR responsibility.

Accountability and transparency.

10. Thanks Cenk, but you are too late. Payday is today.
President-elect Obama has already said he wants the financial industry to get another $350 billion dollars. The Senate was supposed to take a vote on it today at 4 pm.

It is sheer nonsense to give another $350 billion dollars to an industry who did not use the first $350 billion dollar how it promised. Furthermore, the financial industry refuses to be accountable for how the money they have received so far has been spent. No deal. No more of our good money to these scamming con artist banksters.

12. With 350 B you'd think
that the govt could buy out most of the bad mortgage debt and make arrangements with the homeowners for repayment.

13. Autorank and his "Money Party" theory have proven time and again
Edited on Thu Jan-15-09 11:38 PM by truedelphi
To be the only real explanation of why our lives are the way that they are.

Why the 750 billion couldn't have been given to the middle income people to pay off their homes, their school loans etc is beyond me. But if it had worked that way, then maybe there would be a real recovery going on.

15. "We're giving them all that money, and they're spending it on lobbyists. It pisses me off." . . .
not only on lobbyists, but on raises and bonuses for their execs., on purchasing other companies, and on a myriad of other things that have nothing to do with the purpose of the bailout . . . rather than lending this money at reasonable rates to generate new business, it's same old same old . . . hope Obama puts a stop to this, and pronto . . .
