Man, is President Obama the epitome of grace and dignity?

If Roberts had screwed up the oath on me, I think I could have managed to crack a smile when
Biden made that joke.

I'm just not that self actualized, I guess--but it's comforting to know that we have a President who is.

7. I wouldn't draw too many inferences from this clip.

IMO Obama is just in a serious frame of mind here, trying to finish all the mundane duties of the first couple days in office. Judging everything I have seen from him before/during and after the campaign, he appears to have a great sense of humor and as others have said "a first class temperament."

he is the President, he could not be seen in public laughing at a joke
on one of his Chief Justice.

I don't know why some here don't get it, something so simple, you can
see he was trying hard to keep a straight face and toward the end he
stole a laugh when he turned left.

I like that he is setting a tone of civility, rising above the cheap shots.

I said a few weeks ago in an earlier post I wish we had a Pres. and WH like The West Thing..
smart people who rose above their egos, who could walk and talk intelligently at the same time.

Obama exudes grace, intelligence, purpose, and clarity of ideals.

I can get used to that.

13. The past 8 years was too full of repuke sniping

I think President Obama is walking the walk. He refused to get down into the gutter with the repukes during his 2-year run for this office. I think he's going to continue to practice what he preached. During his inaugural speech, he told the world that it's time to "put away childish things." Well sniping at your opponents and advesaries is a highschool way of acting. And as an African American, I'm sure he's been on the receiving end of snickering jokes, etc. Bush always talked about being a "uniter not a divider", but he didn't practice what he preached. I think Obama is planning to bring dignity and sobriety back to the White House and into the halls of Congress and into this administration as much as he can personally do. I applaud him for it! I love Joe, but he can yuck it up with the Pres in private.

Biden is SO my father-in-law. Doesn't care because he knows it will pass.

That was pretty cool to watch Obama react not react. He gave someone a "no" headshake also he stayed stone faced for most of it.
The tap on the elbow shows how he deals with people.
