The energy efficency and conservation proposals in the US stimulus plan would help to scale back global warming.

In California, there is already a drive to reduce the carbon footprint of cars. That means a shift towards non-polluting all-electric vehicles, with no need at all for fossil fuels.

Al Jazeera's Tom Ackerman reports from northern California.

the bottom blade starts out lined up with the mast.
